Placement in book:Part 2 - Section 5: Buddhism

Main points...

  • Sangha is an indian word for "community". I use this word to refer to the community like structure that surround the main characters of Dragonball.
  • Much like Shakyamuni Buddha's sangha the main characters of Dragonball are centered around one man, Goku, and it is this man that they look to for spiritual guidance and protection.
  • Spiraling outwards from Goku comes a shining light that rectifies all abnormalities amongst those he encounters.
    • His enemies are terrified of him, and either perish in battle or find redemption in his ways.
    • His friends and family adore him, and respect his every wish, even if they don't understand his motives.
    • By spending time with Goku, especially in training, those around him benefit greatly, and continue to climb up the spiritual ladder.
  • The Z Warriors, as they are known, are representative of a traveling pilgrimage on a quest for holy relics, and on a quest for self fulfillment and personal understanding.
